Why It Matters

In today’s interconnected world, countries, economies, and communities are closely linked through technology, trade, travel, and communication. Being a global citizen helps people understand these connections and contribute to a more peaceful, equitable, and sustainable world.

In simple terms, a global citizen is someone who sees themselves not only as a member of a town, state, or country, but also as a member of the global community, with rights and responsibilities toward all people and the planet.
